Quality First! Is Arizona's voluntary quality improvement program for early care and education programs serving children birth through age five. Child care centers and family child care providers may apply for the program. They receive financial incentives, professional development, access to child care health consultants, and coaching.

Parents can get referrals to child care centers, preschools, homes and after school programs by calling 1-800-308-9000 or clicking on www.azchildcare.org. This program educates parents about selecting appropriate child care. Training for child care providers is also offered.

Arizona Infant/Toddler Institute (AITI)

Child care providers working with infants and toddlers receive comprehensive professional development opportunities and on-site technical assistance at no cost to them. AITI trainings are based on a nationally recognized curriculum (WestEd’s Program for Infant and Toddler Care, PITC). Call toll-free at 1-877-733-1270 for more information.

The Arizona Infant Toddler Institute (AITI) is a comprehensive training program available to any individual caring for children ages birth to three years old. Our staff teaches them how to offer responsive care giving to each child, partner effectively with the parents of the children they care for, and most importantly, ensure that the environment is suitable for healthy physical, social, and emotional growth for the children.
